Remand of PTI Founder, Bushra Bibi, Extended by 11 Days

11-day physical remand: An accountability court in Islamabad has approved an 11-day physical remand of Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana reference case.

The proceedings have been adjourned until August 12.

The couple was earlier sent on a 10-day physical remand in the NAB Toshakhana reference.

Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were arrested on July 13 in a fresh NAB reference related to Toshakhana, hours after their acquittal in the Iddat case.

The couple was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined Rs500,000 each in February this year after a trial court found their nikah to be fraudulent.

Imran Khan's sentences in the two Toshakhana cases were suspended, while he was acquitted by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the cipher case.

عمران خان اور بشریٰ بی بی کو 13 جولائی کو توشہ خانہ سے متعلق نیب ریفرنس میں عدت کیس میں بری ہونے کے چند گھنٹے بعد گرفتار کیا گیا تھا۔

اس جوڑے کو اس سال فروری میں سات سال قید اور ہر ایک پر پانچ لاکھ روپے جرمانے کی سزا سنائی گئی تھی جب ٹرائل کورٹ نے ان کے نکاح کو دھوکہ دہی کا پایا تھا۔

توشہ خانہ کے دو مقدمات میں عمران خان کی سزائیں معطل کر دی گئیں، جب کہ انہیں اسلام آباد ہائی کورٹ (IHC) نے سائفر کیس میں بری کر دیا۔
